The mattress industry is a highly competitive one, and it's not easy to make products stand out from a sea of others. Bedhead Marketing is always looking for creative ways using existing and innovative graphic technologies to achieve this differentiation. We recently were inspired to begin production on cinemagraphs, a decade-old solution for bringing life to a static image.
What is a Cinemagraph?
A Cinemagraph is a hybrid image between a still photo and a video. They are GIF images that contain within them a continuous motion, giving the illusion of a video clip. They were first introduced by Kevin Burg and Jamie Beck in early 2011, and have since gained popularity as a means of marketing and advertising.
Mattress Cinemagraphs are effective because they are eye-catching and attention-grabbing, while also being short and easy to consume. They are ideal for social media, where users are often scrolling quickly through their feeds. But there are also several other use cases like: website, emails (can utilize animated gifs), online ads, presentations & pitch decks, and even in-store digital POP.
Why are these effective?
There are several reasons why moving images are an effective way to promote mattresses. First, they capture attention more effectively than static images or text. People are more likely to notice a moving image, and the movement can help to draw the eye to key features of the product.
